(11.30.18) Genesis 39:1-4 – “Favor & Prosperity”

Joseph was striped of his beloved possession, thrown into a pit, and sold into slavery at the hand of his brothers.  Why? Simply put, jealousy.   His brothers were jealous of the favor and love their father had for their older brother and they wanted him dead.  Jealousy is a nasty thing.

But God.  God sees the heart of a person and can give favor in the midst of any situation.  (Gen 39:3-4 KJV) “And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand”.  Joseph found favor and grace with Pharoah because God turned Pharoah’s eyes unto Joseph as He knew that Pharoah would see His favor upon Joseph’s life…
