The Good News!
You were created in the image of God — with purpose and on purpose!
You were created in the image of God — with purpose and on purpose! He loves You very much and desires to have a personal relationship with you. There are scriptures all throughout the Bible which make that promise. Ephesians 2:10 is one of my favorites as it says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Another beautiful promise is in Ephesians 1:4 it where it boasts that God even chose you before He created the world.
He has plans to give you a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), but it’s your choice. God doesn’t force us to follow Him — we have free will and no one is perfect. We learn in Isaiah 59:2 that sin separates us from God. We face temptations every day, but the Good News is that He made a way for us to have relationship with Him and His mercies are new every morning!
The truth is that it’s not about religion, good works, or anything you can do, but it’s what Jesus did for you on the Cross. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tells us that He made a way by sending Jesus to pay a debt He did not owe, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
Salvation is a free gift and something that you must choose for yourself. No one can do it for you. So today, if you’d like to make the decision to follow Christ and have a fresh start I’ll take you to Romans 10:9 which gives instruction on how to receive Him, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Know Jesus!
If you’re ready to experience all the Lord has for your life, pray this simple prayer out loud:
“Father God, I thank You for sending Jesus to die for me and pay my debt which He did not owe. Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross for me and that You rose from the dead. I invite You in my heart today and make the commitment to follow You. Lord, teach me Your ways and guide me all the days of my life. Today, I start my life a fresh and a new. Thank You for loving me. In Jesus Name I pray, amen.”
